RadioShack to sell T-Mobile G2

If you were proactive enough to pre-order a T-Mobile G2, there's a better-than-average chance that your shiny new smartphone is already en route to your abode.

For those who slept in, it looks as if RadioShack will be the go-to place if you're looking to snag one early from the retail universe. According to the badly formatted flyer pictured above, The Shack will be the first B&M location to stock the US version of the HTC Desire Z, and it'll be hawking 'em for $149.99 on a two-year postpaid contract starting October 3rd. Got that penciled into your little black book? Good.

Awsome T-Mobile G2

Some of us at Gadget Junction just can’t get enough of T-Mobile’s G-series phones. Considering there were only two – the G1 and now the G2 – it’s pretty impressive that these ur-Android devices have such a rabid following.

Even given the massive number of Android devices now floating around, it’s interesting that each new iteration is just a bit better than the last. The G2 reminds me of a Nexus One on steroids and the UI and form factor is a winner – it’s as thin as the N8 that we just got in but it blazes through apps like a Ferrari.

T-Mobile announces new myTouch with HSPA+, front-facing camera, and Android 2.2

Just a few weeks after the announcement of their first HSPA+ phone, the G2, T-Mobile has just announced their second: the myTouch by HTC.

“But wait,” you say, “hasn’t the myTouch existed forever?”

Yes, yes it has. But that was the myTouch 3G – this one’s just the “myTouch”. Hurray for confusing names!

T-Mobile ramps up “4G speed” HSPA+ network in San Francisco, San Jose, and 14 other regions

Each time we write about T-Mobile flippin’ the switches to turn on their “4G speed” (they can’t say its “4G” for technical reasons, but it’s pretty dang fast — thus, they always say “4G Speed”) HSPA+ network, someone in the comments goes on a rant about how it’s taking waaaay to long to show up in the Silicon Valley.
As someone who was born and raised here, I’m right there whining with’em.

Fortunately, the time for whining has come to an end: T-Mobile is announcing tonight that their 4G network now includes San Jose, San Francisco, Oakland, Sacramento and 12 other big ol’ regions around the US. Is yours one? Hop behind the jump to find out.

T-Mobile G2 Gets Unboxed

It seems that the new T-Mobile G2 has started to ship to customers, as a few have reported receiving the G2 already, and here we have the obligatory G2 unboxing video.

The T-Mobile G2 features a 3.7 inch capacitive touchscreen display, plus an 800MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and it will make use of T-Mobile’s new HSPA+ network, that is designed to deliver download speeds of up to 14.4 Mbps.

Other specifications on the T-Mobile G2 include a five megapixel camera, that can record HD video in 720p, there is also an LED Flash, and it comes with 4GB of built in storage, plus a bundled 8GB microSD card.The T-Mobile G2 is available now to existing T-Mobile customers for $199, it comes with the latest version of Google Android, Android 2.2 Froyo.
