Microsoft and Zune

It's had been a long way from a portable Xbox, eventually it looks like Microsoft has at least one form of portable gaming in mind if this latest word from the European company's has any indication.

As they were commenting on the Zune's potential game playing abilities in an interview with TotalVideoGames.com, it has been said that "gaming is certainly something we're considering for the device." Unfortunately, that's about all they had said on the subject, although if we had to guess, we'd expect the games to be more in line with the iPod's than a shrunken-down version of Gears of War.

Some of the Xbox 360 connectivity would have been seem to be a definite possibility, however, given that it's able to share other content with the console's. It also seems likely that this won't be the full extent of Microsoft's foray into portable gaming, in connection of some of the earlier points we've heard.

Back few months ago Philips Polymer Vision, promised a rollable, paper-like display in a 2 years time - and took only a few months to have a prototype ready. Philips Polymer Vision is showing its Concept Readius during an international exhibition in Berlin, Germany.

The Philips Concept Readius is a prototype of a consumer device for business professionals. The device implements a pocket-sized e-reader withouth sacrificing readability, mobility, performance, or weight.

The Readius is the world’s first prototype of a functional electronic-document reader that can unroll its display to a scale larger than the device itself. With four gray levels, the monochrome, 5-inch QVGA (320 pixels x 240 pixels) display provides paper-like viewing comfort with a high contrast ratio for reading-intensive applications, including text, graphics, and electronic maps.

Based on Philips Polymer Vision’s PV-QML5 rollable display reference design, the Readius was created in order to demonstrate the viability of the rollable-display concept in mobile applications and to gain customer feedback at the IFA 2005.

This is a small Insigna 2GB Sport Video player, An interesting beast. It’s branded with Best Buy’s music store.
